WHERE IS IT ALL LEADING?

We are living in fast-paced times where today’s headlines become history almost overnight— no more so than in the world of CURRENCY!!! New terminology to describe the future of this vital commodity constantly changes as new technology advances relentlessly in this area. One wonders what the end result is going to be. One thing is certain— nothing highlights more the fact that the world has become a “global village” than the “world of currency.” So— have we any means to discern what the future looks like in this realm?

Fortunately, the answer is — YES!!!

The Bible gives very specific information in the book of Revelation about the future status of currency in the day to day lives of ordinary men and women.
This is truly remarkable when we consider this last book in the Bible was written by the apostle John over 2000 years ago on the Isle of Patmos.
Can we trust what this ancient, and still best-selling book in the world, says? The answer is a resounding YES!!! Almost one third of the contents of the Bible are prophetic, and hundreds of prophecies have literally been fulfilled to the letter over the millennia— strong proof that the book
of Revelation will likewise be fulfilled.

The Mark

Turning to chapter 13 in this book we read— “and he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond to receive a mark in their right hand or their forehead, and that no man might buy or sell save he that had the mark or the name of the beast, or the number of
his name” (v16, 17). These verses describe a future charismatic figure who comes on the world stage, and will be looked on as the answer to the world’s ills— v8 of chapter 13 says “all who dwell on the earth shall worship him.” However, he is soon revealed for who he is— the Antichrist (v18). Verses 16,17 tell us that those who will NOT receive his “mark” will be unable to buy or sell. At this future time a CASHLESS SOCIETY will be in existence, and anyone who does not have the “mark” (probably a chip or some other mark) inserted in the wrist or forehead, and containing information on each Individual, will not be able to buy or sell. This reveals the future status of currency in the lives of individuals. Events in today’s world suggest that this time may not be far away.

What can I/you do?

Look again at v8 of Rev 13 where it says “all who dwell on the earth shall worship him [the Antichrist] WHOSE NAMES ARE NOT WRITTEN IN THE BOOK OF LIFE.”

You see, before the events recorded in Revelation 13 take place, a magnificent event called “the Rapture” will have occurred. This event, which is described in 1 Thessalonians 4v13-18, basically describes the miraculous removal from earth of all true Christians, those whose names ARE (this is KEY) written in the book of life. To make sure my name is in the book of life, I must first acknowledge I am a lost sinner (“all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God,” Romans 3v23). Next, I must believe that Jesus Christ died for my sins on Calvary’s cross (“who his own self bore my sins in His own body on the tree,” 1 Peter 2v24). As I trust in Christ alone as my sin eater, the Bible says that I am at this point “born again” (John 3v7), and will be among those who go to be with Christ when the glorious event called the Rapture occurs. The Bible teaches that this event is the next thing on God’s prophetic agenda for the world. “Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved” (Acts 16v31). “Neither is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved” (Acts 4v12).
